 About
Hal Eastman and Peregrine Images®
Peregrine
Images® is a photography / publication company seeking to create
and share simple, beautiful images which communicate
the natural rhythms and innate energies
of chosen subjects.
Before turning to photography in 1995, Hal Eastman enjoyed a long executive
career in several diverse industries. His developing photographic interest
was initially drawn to remote areas in California, Idaho, and Hawaii,
sites of rhythmic forms sculpted over time by the primal natural
forces of wind, water and seasonal change. Later he discovered
a similar poetry in the movement of dancers in natural settings. The
result is a series of photographs of dancers in nature
and, more recently, in studio settings which capture the spirit
and sculptural essence of dance movement. Hal’s unusual
camera and printing techniques, developed over several years, give the
images the feel of impressionist paintings and represent
an innovative approach to dance photography.
Hal Eastman was born in Seattle, Washington, and now lives in Boise,
Idaho, and Carmel, California, with his wife Jacque. He has published two books, Natural
Dance and Dancessence. Limited edition fine art prints are also available for both projects. The prints from Venice
Dance
are currently in development.
